Fox float EVOL's

Just curious what everyone thinks about the adjustability of these shocks on Procross cats. I do some both of ditch banging+aggressive trail riding and some long-mile casual pace trail riding. Do you think you can adjust them soft enough for a long-mile smooth run, or will they always be too stiff for that kind of ride?.... Also at 6'4" and 225 they would be carrying a fairly good size load.

Don't have a procross cat but have had lots of Floats. The early Floats and even the Float 2's were problematic because there really was no in between. You were either too stiff or too light. The Evols increase the air capacity so a person can run them a little soft and still not bottom. Off the top of my head start at about 60 lbs and go down from there. You might have to wait a little while though.

Yeah I have Float 2's on my '12 800 High Country. They seem to work fine. Just thinking about updating the 06 Crossfire that has 7000 miles on it. I am considering a 600RR if the shocks can be set soft enough for trail cruising and be able set them stiffer for ditch banging. Wondering if that can be done thru the clickers or if they have to be taken apart and change the valving.... If not might look at an El Tigre.

As far as your 06 Crossfire, you may want to consider Fox 0 (zero) Pro. It is a rebuild able gas shock & does well in all area's of use. I put one on mine (same sled less miles) while I was waiting for my ACT shock to be rebuilt. I like having extra just in case, you may also want to consider just rebuilding your ACT shock as long as it's not pounded out, a little less expensive. Just my .02.-Mezz

The shocks on the Crossfire I've had rebuilt they are comfortable for trail cruising but a little soft for hard riding. Mostly looking to sell that machine and look for a short track 600 whether its a 600 RR or El Tigre. Wife or daughter might not like a 600 RR if I can't set it soft enough.
