How is a typical freestyle/back country sled set up? Do guys ride 6's or 8's? Does anyone know of a freestyle/back country sled for sale?

I have never had any experience with the Freestyle/Backcountry. I did see (a month ago) one for sale at the Ski Doo dealer in St Cloud MN. Brand new left over. I do not know how much.

The FreeStyles are expensive. Basically the top of the line for their long track set up. All the best shocks and suspension. Stonger a- arms etc.... If you just tool around in off trail, you don't need one. The Summit's work very well. Kind of the same as the difference between an Assault RMK and a regular RMK. I don't know that the Freestyle comes in a 600 version. Likely only 800. If you are a serious mountain rider, I think bigger is better. If you are just riding around the UP hills, I'm sure a 600 would be fine.

The FreeStyles were sno-check only. You won't find them out there now, unless someone is selling, or a dealer somehow got their hands on a left-over or a no-show.

The freestyles are a smaller light weight sled(xf chassis) for beginners and/or an economically sled. They only have 550 fan motor and Were only built until 2009 from what I saw on Ski-Doo's web site. The backcountry Freestayle is just a 136" track like a Renegade this is a lightweight economical sled for someone that whats to ride deep snow. It is not a performance type sled like a Renegade or Summit.

You can get a backcountry X and a standard Backcountry which are both Renegades which are a 137 inch track. The X package is the beefed up version and most of them are spring order.
