Garmin Nuvi 205W

I'm currently using a Lowrance XOG loaded with gpssledmaps in winter, and Lakemaster in the summer. Love it, works great, but was considering the Garmin Nuvi 205W for the wider and more daylight viewable screen.

Has anyone used the 205W? All comments extremely welcomed. Thanks.

Go to best buy's website they have a nice feature where you can list up to 4 models you are considering and compare them. Things I looked at were battery life, features, ect. . Some models do not come with a battery. I purchased mine at Staples and got a great deal on a 255w.

You can make side by side comparisons on their site.

If you get into the 755t-765t series, I believe includes lane assist and some other features not found on the 205 or 255.

I have the 255w and the only downside to it is it can't to route's. With the route feature you can go on Mapquest and plan out your trip using the exact roads you want to use and than download that to your GPS. With the 205 and 255 you are at the mercy of the units direction.

Redrev, I know what you mean. I'm not worried about it speaking the street names, traffic updates, lane choices, xm radio, etc. As long as I can load the sled maps in the winter and the lake maps in the summer, and chart the course, that's all I need.

What maps are you running?
