Gas Guage 2008 M8

Does anyone know if my float is "floating" around where it shouldn't be in the gas tank, thus no working guage.. Can I just put my hand in the tank to reset it?? My hand will fit and the tank is almost empty, but can it be done?? Or does it need special treatment like a piece of duct tape over the E to F window..

the gas gauge on my crossfire fell apart inside the tank.......i removed the loose junk and now just look inside for my fuel level!

Just reach in there and grab it Chris, my brothers 08 M8 did the same thing. If you dont want stinky gas hands, put on a pair of neoprene gloves.

Just fished the "inards" of my gas gauge on my M. Trying to decide to get the replacement drop in or just leave it as isn (warranty should cover). Never really felt the gas guage was all that accurate anyway. Noticed it was broke, due to the dial just spinning 360's while riding...
