Gas in Shingleton

I was wondering where the nearest gas to Shingleton is. Is the gas station in Melstand open. About a month a go I drove through shingleton and it looks like the gas station has been closed for some time. I have a group heading up that way next week and was wondering the gas situation. Thanks in advance for the input.

I got an email a couple months ago from Melstrand stating that they would have gas this yr. I have not been by there to verify.

Last year , when thru that area, the Bear Trap was selling 5 gallon containers of gas, not sure on the price but didn't really care. I was greatful to get it. Really helps out if your in a pinch.

Call Melstrand store/gas to find out for sure. Sounds like none of us are buying gas there this yr. They have run out in the past. I would love to buy the Shinglton location, How can it not make money. It needs a little gas shack for an attendent by pumps and pay them minimum wage and the trail runs under the pump canapy. No compitition for miles any direction. It could be a Copper mine sitting there. (Pun intended).

Two, three years ago the Shingleton gas station did not sell at auction. It is my understanding that there are not up to date EPA mandated tanks in the ground. That would be a major expense to any new owner on top of purchase price.

Isn't that a new gas station right next to Andy's in Seney?
Would have been nice if it were put in Shingleton instead.

Gas in Wetmore. Gas in Melstrand. Gas in Boot lake. There are certainly enough places to get gas now that Shingleton is closed.

I just returned from the Seney/Shingleton area.
The above information is correct.
No gas in Shingleton.
Melstrand has gas (906) 452-6324
Bear Trap ??? didnt see any (906) 452-6364
Boot Lake has gas (Sorry no #) off trail 41 south of Shingleton
Buckhorn Resort has gas (off trail 7) (906) 387-3559
Jack Pine has gas (sorry no #) off trail 413 & 41
Seney has 2 gas stations... BP & the new one next to the bar

I'm pretty sure the little store in Stuben has gas also but can't remember if that is before or after the Boot Lake. The Jack Pine is under new ownership and open 7 days a week now where in the past they were typically closed on mondays.
