Gas in Silver City?

Just wondering if there will be gas in Silver City this year. Was thinking that I heard the Silver Sands Motel had been purchased? Not sure! The Konteka in White Pines of course is a good option just wondering if anyone has some new news?

I haven't heard anything about Silver Sands being purchased or about gas being avail., when we were up 2 weeks ago it didn't look like anything new was going on. It would be nice but as you said Konteka has everything you need.

I would lke to see Silver Sands reopened too. We spent many nights there in 90s when sleddin was an adventure to do 100 miles a day if you could take the beating & 8" was state of art travel.

I think the Konteka still has gas in White Pine, that's only about 6 miles away.

LOL.....I remember getting gas in silver city back in 1991,and we had a '79 Pantera in the group that we had to mix the gas for. Rode from Ironwood to the Porkies and back seemed like a big day back then..........Memories...

We would have made a good pair! We had one of those new fangeled Polaris Indy Trail Delux 2up 1993 vintage & teal jackets to match.Old 488 air ran forever.LOL

I had a 94 indy trail 488 fan teal green that sled was indestructable put 10,000 miles on that sled still sold it for 1500

Silver Sands is still for sale. What a beautiful place winter and summer. If i win that hundred mill mega millions 2nite, ill buy it and reopen it! Gas in this area is Konteka, Ontonagon, Bergland.

Our 1980 340 Jag is in the back shed. We still exercise our yellow lab by having him chase us around the field with it. Top end 35mph. Once upon a time it made it from Hazelhurst, WI to Phillips, WI and back - one day. My son was riding it and I don't think he'll ever be the same. Now that I think about it, our '70s something 343 Yamaha w/rear tank is still back there somewhere. The 1966 Evinrude 440SS is gone, but sure did scream in the day. Broke down every 25 miles too. Sorry for the high jack.

We used to get gas there also. In the early 90s we rode Yamahas, and I was still riding on leaf springs. My XL-V had a 7 gallon fuel tank but it got 15 mpg. Both my sons had leaf springs on their Enticers also. But my wife had that fancy new pogo stick front suspension on her Ovation.
