I have to buy new batt for my sled this year, they have the liquid acid batteries and the gel batteries. I have no experience with the gels, it is about 20 bucks more are they better or am I better off sticking with the liquid? Thanks in advance

Gel better I would buy gel if replacing $20 not that much more. Used to be a lot more than 20 bucks to go gel.

I will be replacing my Apex bat with a new gel one for this season. I don't trust an old style bat for more than 2 years. Gels have to be better. I hope. For only $20 its worth a try.

Unless I miss my guess, the gel batteries are certified for inverted operation. Do you ever "fly" inverted?

It has happened but never on purpose--I think I'll go ahead and give it a try. If something bad happens with the battery this year I'll post it

A friend of mine has the original gel battery from his '99 Ski-doo and still runs it. He runs it in the sled all winter, then puts it in his Harley in the summer and it performs perfectly. Knowing this my next battery will be gel.

One of the keys to longevity is keeping it charged in the off season. Might explain why the Harley rider has had such good luck. The other thing is you should use no more than a 1 amp charger on the small batteries.
