Thank you so much for your well wishes. It is very much appreciated. Typically, I would have put in additional shouts, but, I've been a little tied up. I had a major surgery on my back on January 19th, which not only included multiple disc fusions, but also bone removal from my spine, with installation of hardware as well as a laminectomy which is opening up of a nerve passage. Quite the cut in my back, about 4 inches deep x 10 inches long. My first surgery ever and believe me, I have been pretty freaked out about it. Hoping to get discharged on the 25th. So, until then, I will refrain from shouting out. Thanks again. -Mezz

Hopefully you feel better soon. That's some serious work you got done. Were you having back problems early last winter?

Whoa, that's quite the surgery!

After an auto accident in 1969/1970 I had troubles in the L4/L5 neighborhood that was relieved with as series of Cortisone injections (with a long, wicked, nasty horse needle! :grief: ) No surgery needed.

It wasn't perfect, as I can't walk very far today, but I'm hanging in there.
If I was faced with that today, I'd probably go with the surgery, as the surgical techniques have improved considerably in the last 50 years.
I'm sure you'll get through this just fine, with some time to ease back into action. Best wishes for a great outcome, Mezz!

(Today's the 26th, did they kick you out yet?)

Yep, in fact they released me on the 24th, but only because I am able to continue with the lovely Lovenox injections to myself. This was one complication due to my being on a blood thinner due to a nasty DVT clot in 2015. It is referred to as "bridge". Not a big deal for me as I was a combat medic in the army, so that stuff doesn't bother me. I had been doing the cortisone injections as needed over the course of the past few decades, in fact, was aiming toward the site specific injection which ultimately brought me to this. I was able to get by with chiropractic care, inversion table & believe it or not, back country snowmobiling. Needless to say, our bodies can only take so much. It sure feels good to be home! I have great family support to help with my snow, which is a pet peve of mine, but I have to just let it be. It will be quite a road to recovery, but, I don't want any hiccups, no repeat performances for me thank you! Your well wishes, one and all, are meaningful & greatly appreciated. -Mezz
