Getting the RPM's to 8k plus in mountains on Polaris RMK 800

Hi, was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get the RPM's up on my RMK. Was just out in CO and we were at about 8500 to 9500 feet the whole time, and I'm running 58 gram weights. Sled is a 2009 RMK 155, 800. But I could never top out at more than 7600-7700 RPM. And my buddy has a 2010 Assault 800 and it wouldn't do more than 7400 RPM with 60 gram weights.

Do I need to look at a different spring? Something else?

7800 is about the peak rpms that I would want to be running on that sled it really cuts down on reliability when you go over that. But if you do want to gain r's you can put in lighter weights, or change your spring.

I ran 60 gram weights at Cooke and was at 8300 RPM. I should of went to 62's and dropped rpm's. Sled held together just fine. Must be the oil I use! lol. Double check that those are not 68 gram weights. I run 68 in Michigan 0' to 2000'. You may be geared to high and the motor can't wind up. Ask dealer for the clutching chart for your sled. They have one and it is free.

Thanks guys. Definitely have 58's in there, not 68's. I've got 4 sets (58/60/62/68). So I know I had the right ones in there. I should check the gears as the guy who had it before me ran MI/MN the whole time and maybe he changed them. I'll look into the clutch spring and the valve spring. Didn't know you could change the valve spring. It ran really well, and I seemed to have good power, just felt like I should at least push 8000. Figured if I had those last 300-400 rpm I'd avoid a few stucks and climb a little better. Will also check at the dealer for the clutching chart. Didn't know they had those. Any other suggestions, would appreciate. Thanks!
