Getting wood outside Rousseau bar

Riding into Rousseau bar last week (2 Thursdays ago actually) I found some wood on trail 12 where it parallels the roadway. Unlucky for me, it speared my sled, lucky for me the jewels are still where I can easily find them. Enjoy the carnage - sled was totaled by the insurance company. The impact stopped me dead in my tracks, killed the engine, exploded the chaincase and threw me from/under the sled. I ended up with only a couple of minor bruises to my knee and shoulder and some smalls scrapes on my calf.

+1 on Progressive insurance. I called them from the UP and they came to the house and surveyed the damage and I had a check in less than 1 week. +1 on Timberline who's got my new one waiting for me to pick up this weekend. -2 on the local doo/poo dealer in Waukesha who jerked me around on a few different sleds/pricing/etc, each time calling me back to tell me the deal wasn't going to happen because the sled didn't exist after all or he misquoted the price after I verified what I was putting $ to hold it.

A friend had that happen with a steel fence post ditch banging. No injuries just poke through the sled and missed major parts
.

Wow, that is crazy Josh! You are lucky, it could have been worse for you. Good luck with the new sled!

josh..were u riding with ryan? i am pretty sure this is the incident he told me about..for what its worth..i believe you were riding the ditch before it was groomed for lack of snow..so its no different than ditch banging or riding the poles..stumps and trees and rocks will wipe out a sled and hopefully not the rider..the trail is the road until its groomed on 12

Yep, it seemed all good until it wasn't. Thankfully I really wasn't going fast, just feeling it out a bit.

I picked up a 16 summit. It was a tossup between the poo and the doo but the dealer down here just kept jerking me around.
