Gmax Helmet

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with gmax helmets? I personally have never heard of them up until today but they are dot certified and seem to be a really nice helmet based on the specs for a good price... 19 difference vents, a flip down sun shield, snow chin curtain, anti fog shield, LED light on back of helmet, etc.

I do not want to buy something with little knowledge so that's where you guys come in, please help and thank you in advance.

Gmax helmet - 1st weekend

I just got the Gmax 54 modular w/elec shield. I have just used it 2 days in the UP. So far I'm pretty happy although maybe I should have got a bigger size because the cheeks are tight. I like all the vents although its been cold in the UP so they are closed. One issue is the drop down visor: You need to keep the vents above it closed so it won't fog when bitter cold, and when it fogs it takes a while to defrost. It was about 0 this morning so it couldn't quite defrost. Maybe plug the helmet in as the sleds warms. But overall I like it after 2 days.

My Wife and I both have Gmax mod helmets with electric shields. Wifes is a few years old, not sure the model. Mine is the Gmax 44s. We've always had HJC helmets in the past with no complants, but wanted to try something else. I didnt like the drop down sun visor on the Gmax at first but now I use it all the time. I think the quality is pretty good on the Gmax for the price. Only issue I have is when its really cold, moisture builds up on the chin part, then drips and freezes when you flip it up. We like them.

They are a price point helmet for the masses. As long as it is DOT approved your better to have it on than not. Construction materials in a helmet pretty much dictate price. Such as kevlar, carbon fiber, fiberglass or plastic. I want the best I can get to protect my head since it is a pretty important part of your body. Getting parts and replacement shields iss also a factor to consider.

our group has 4 ,54s helmets .They have big time air leaks .Im trying to find them with a blowdryer in my bathroom yesterday with my wife .It's BS going to write them to see if they do anything about it..Tried to gasket them but still leaks like a sive..
