Not sure if I should have posted this on tech board or not but I invested in a go pro camera this year, out in the cold has anyone had experience with them and an idea of how long the battery lasts, and if you need to recharge can you use one of those portable chargers or charge sticks, the one I purchased has an internal battery and is not removable.

The first couple of years with my g.p. I had a lot of trial and error. When I thought it was on, it was off. When I thought it was off, it was on. I came back from one trip thinking I had a lot of good material and all I had was hours of the dash and my gas cap with the cam aimed too low on the helmet mount.

As to the battery, I found that being more selective when to shoot is important. To record say eight hours of footage is going to take forever to edit. Rather I like to shoot when something is happening, scenery, or whatever. But not continuous and you should have adequate battery life. They're designed to work in all sort of harsh environments including the cold. Good luck and I would recommend the PowerDirector editing program, once mastered it's easy to use.

Here's one from 2014, remember..... that was when it used to snow in Wisconsin....https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=CsMIzPXliL0

Between my riding bud and myself we've had 3 different go pros and 2 different contours. Hero 3, hero 4 , hero 5 all last about 2 hrs if your lucky in winter. Contours usually last 4 hours. And we only use them out west in the mtns where its not as common to hit really cold N WI low temps.

Do not know about the cameras but the company itself is having financial problems laying off a bunch of people and thinking about putting themselves up for sale.
