I know the trails are likely to have heavy traffic this weekend, my son and I are heading up to the root cellar sunday thru weds and was wondering if anyone can give an idea on how overall trail conditions are taking 8 over to 3 up to rockland, is trail 3 the one that runs high up along the highway? if I remember 8 was a lot of road running and sometimes in past was plowed pretty clear. also how the trail 13 loop and Freda loop have been and if there is any logging going on in the area. also going to gay I also know sometimes trail 133 from lac labelle can be a washboard am I better taking 124 across to gay? Again I realize the trails will be well ridden over the weekend and they are calling for warmer temps on sunday, just hoping someone can share some intel on overall conditions. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Hopefully someone can chime in with more recent conditions especially after this weekend but here's some intel:

- Is trail 3 the one that runs high up along the highway? YES
- If I remember 8 was a lot of road running and sometimes in past was plowed pretty clear. 8 is an old railroad bed so it is straight and fast...no road running at all. Perhaps you are think of 12 S from Mass City.
- How is the trail 13 loop and Freda loop have been and if there is any logging going on in the area. The 13 loop from Greenland to Twin Lakes did have logging earlier this year but they have found, signed and are grooming the workaround...always a favorite trail when in the area!
- Freda Loop is fine, tons of snow and usually its groomed just fine...just depends on time of day, traffic, etc...
- Going to gay I also know sometimes trail 133 from lac labelle can be a washboard am I better taking 124 across to gay? All the post I've seen so far this year has said to avoid trail 133...hopefully that has changed but don't know first hand. 124 is a safer bet unless you get other intel.

Have fun and take/post pics!

Thanks bonnevier I appreciate it, normally stay further up in UP so haven't stayed here for a couple years, I appreciate the info and know things can change 133 has always been a crap shoot so I will just avoid, I know 8 is an old railroad grade but thought there was some road running involved between bergland and ewen, I may be mistaken. Again I thank you and appreciate the info.
