Gogebic Lodge Access Trail?

Does anyone know if there is a legal, open, groomed (periodically or regularly) access trail to Gogebic Lodge? In years past there has been, I forget if it came off of Trail 1 or Trail 100 and got you pretty much right to their driveway on hwy M-64, it's been a few years since I have been in this area. I know how to get on the lake at the south end at the boat launch and head up to the Lodge, just wondering if coming from the north on the lake, if I would get off the lake at the lodge, is there a decent land trail to get to 1 or 100?

The trail to Gogebic lodge is being groomed even though it’s not showing on this screen shot. It comes in off trail 100 this year not off trail 1 like your picture that is an old trail. IMG_6004.png

Andy idea where the open water was by an ice damn on the lake? We are staying south of Gogebic lodge and will run the lake toward hoop? All good that way?

The ice heave’s are about 2 miles south of the hoop, I don’t have any other information than that, can’t say anything else but were they say it is.

I was there last weekend and yes the ice heave is present, and like goofy600 said, it is about 2 miles south of the hoop on the west side. It extends from close to the shore to about 1/2 way across the lake east to west. Just south of the heave there was open water that is about 15ft wide (north to south) and over 100ft long (east to west). This is where at least two of the sleds reported were going in the water. After navigating the heave and open water on the west side of the lake we just used the East shoreline for the rest of the trip as you can run that without any problems.

It was not marked last weekend. My understanding is no group wants to mark it as they fear some liability if they mark it and something happens.

I was on Trail 100 yesterday and went in both directions and I did not see any access to the lodge.
The present trail 1 is not the trail one of the past the intersection where you would turn to go towards the lodge on Lake Gogebic is not being used this year and there is no signage.
Trail one if you stay on, it takes you to Merriweather where the hoop and holler is, there is no way to get off of that trail. They have used this route in the past But not very much.
if you are traveling from Marinesco on trail one towards Gogebic the first intersection you come to is trail 100 if you continue on trail one the second T intersection is the trail that would take you to go get it Lodge. There is no signage there this year and they aren’t grooming that section of the trail. I’m guessing maybe some logging going on.
