Gonna try an Oxygen helmet today

Had a customer not liking his oxygen helmet...said shield didn't work (not heating), and sun visor lever kept breaking, causing the shield to come down constantly when hitting bumps...(we replaced sun visor mechanism 3 times)...long story short...he bought a different helmet, and didn't want this one...so he said I could have it...cost me nothing.
I cleaned it , disinfected it (pulled it all apart)...the sunvisor was goofy...so i simply popped it out..no more sun visor...no biggie i never use them in the helmets i have...started testing the shield...found it wasn't in the track on left side...fiddled with it for hours..frustrating as heck trying to pop shield in, with out breaking it..finally looked up a video on how to do it on youtube..(duh..should have done that first).felt like an idiot..so easy...you have to line up the notices, and angle the top using some pressure..and boom popped right in, both sides in under ten seconds...so then took it out to the sled, and plugged it in..shield heated up, light on back works...gonna test it out today on a ride...but i can see why people can't figure how to change the shields on these..its frustrating if you don't know the trick to doing it...if it works..I'll have a nice new helmet..that cost me only a new shield. 1000007879.jpg

Worked great...its a little big on me...tried it with out the neck gator..got a bit too much wind up the back...gonna try it with the gator and use a thicker face mask..but otherwise nice..I see why people like this helmet...the field of vison is incredible

Works almost too good with the neck gator...its warm...almost too warm...best cold weather helmet I've ever had on my head...with the gator in place I was sweating tonight...below zero would be no problem...and glasses work great in this helmet...highly recommend it

adding that vented shield makes the helmet the bee's knee's ads in just enough air to be extremely comfortable because IMO the helmet is too warm, we were up when it was -25 and still ran with shield vent open, still very comfortable. Helmet just lacks air movement and the shield provides just the right amount

Love my O2 helmet. But it is to warm. i don't even wear a facemask under it. just run the neck gator that came with the helmet and it is plenty warm for me. I do run hot though. I run a Uclear communicator in mine for music and it is much quieter helmet than my Poo modular helmet. Plus like you say the vision is far and away the best.

Attackman I am sure you know but you can buy different cheek pads and liner to get a better fit. I still think it would be nice if you could buy a helmet that starts with a basic liner then try different cheek pads to get the perfect fit.

I love mine. I took out the ear inserts, little snug on me…..I have big ears 😆….i do crack the visor a bit from time to time to cool off, which isn’t a big deal. The light on the back came in real handy last trip to the UP as the snow dust was real bad, nice to at least see a little light of the guy ahead of you.

Something I wish I understood when purchasing mine. I had to make the 125 mile round trip back to the dealer the next day to play mix and match. Swapped various liner sizes and cheeks pads until it felt real nice…

Funny to hear all of the comments that echo mine. Coming from a Mod 3, the sizing is larger so this one is a bit big for me. Needed to run the neck gator as it was putting cold air down the back of my neck. Have to crack the shield when first starting out, but I blame that on my Doo's function that shuts off the shield power when below 2K RPM, so it can start to fog when taking off as the shield has cooled off if you were stopped for more than a minute or two.

Off to order different pads and liners and see about that vented shield.

Only complaint is the shield tends to distort some things, especially items closer to you like gauges and also reflections at night.

Seems like the new vented shield doesn't distort things like the old one.
