Had a customer not liking his oxygen helmet...said shield didn't work (not heating), and sun visor lever kept breaking, causing the shield to come down constantly when hitting bumps...(we replaced sun visor mechanism 3 times)...long story short...he bought a different helmet, and didn't want this one...so he said I could have it...cost me nothing.
I cleaned it , disinfected it (pulled it all apart)...the sunvisor was goofy...so i simply popped it out..no more sun visor...no biggie i never use them in the helmets i have...started testing the shield...found it wasn't in the track on left side...fiddled with it for hours..frustrating as heck trying to pop shield in, with out breaking it..finally looked up a video on how to do it on youtube..(duh..should have done that first).felt like an idiot..so easy...you have to line up the notices, and angle the top using some pressure..and boom popped right in, both sides in under ten seconds...so then took it out to the sled, and plugged it in..shield heated up, light on back works...gonna test it out today on a ride...but i can see why people can't figure how to change the shields on these..its frustrating if you don't know the trick to doing it...if it works..I'll have a nice new helmet..that cost me only a new shield.
