Heck, If I was in his shoes I'd be happy that I didn't have to mooch off the state anymore. I guess it takes all kinds of people to make the world go around.

His justification is that by paying his taxes, he paid into the system. Heck, if that's the case then I've been paying into the system for years. Where do I apply for a Bridge Card?

Current Law states that a lump sum of money does not constitute as income. So the guy is riding a loop hole. What about the guy who embezled 12 million and got 6 years in prison. Heck thats 2 million a year income to get fed, housed, medical, and a guy named Bubba to cuddle with. lol. to watch tv and exercise. Last I heard Lansing is all over this. Guess Michigan politicians don't want to share what they already have going on themselves.

He took home $850,000 of a $2,000,000 winner.
How much of the $1,150,000 taxes went to MI.

I wouldn't use it if I was him

But can't really get riled up about it either.
Cause I'll probably never pay that much in taxes in my life.

Not how it works. There is only the $800k to tax because he took the lump sum. The $2mill only comes into play if he took the yearly payment option.

Sweet....
Leroy suffers from lack of " honor " very common nowadays.

Here is a local money problem. A few months ago we had all this advertisment for $ 88 mil bond for the schools ( vote yes, vote yes ). I kind of chuckled they mentioned it was for new facilities and among other things for " the kids safety " ( ??? ) That left me with a raised eyebrow, but not wanting to pay any higher taxes I was not a proponent. When a few families & businesses tried to get a pool & facilities motion going 10 years ago the local " school superintendent " whom drives a hummer by the way, went to the college aged swim coach and said " you better not get behind this " so now for a 88m gig I was not in. ( Yes my kids were state level swimmers and I did own a hummer but I pay their salary ) Please keep that in mind, I'm biased. Never-the less the new bond got voted down, ( I think people just have had enough )

So just the other day... all the school teachers received pink slips ! I guess now they can lay off who they want, they need to get rid of 20 and by giving them all p-slips they do not have to follow tenure ??? What I surmise is somewhere in that 88m they were going to float the 20 teachers and call it good ? Just a guess but that's what I think.

How about bridge cards for everyone ??? How can I get worked up when our politicians skim 850 off the top in the drop of a hat ? The great money grab ? Everyone gets some ?
