GoPro Video Conversion Software

Hi all,

I have taken a bunch of videos on my GoPro Hero HD (got it for Christmas) and now I want to edit some of them using Windows Movie Maker. Unfortunately, WMM does not recognize the MP4 format that the GoPro records in. I would like to find a free HD conversion program (convert .mp4 to .avi or .wmv) that will not lose the video quality. All programs I have tried are either HD "trial" versions that add a watermark in the middle of the video playback or they produce low definition videos.

Any suggestions for free high def. conversion software?

i have used picasa that you download from google and it will read the go pro can't do alot of editing but some
