I have a Garmin 60C and the days of free trail map downloads seem to be over. They are wanting $39 for a trail map of Michigan on the websites that I have checked on. Anyone else have a GPS Garmin 60c that would be interested in a splitting it up for a group buy? The more that buy the cheaper the cost. Let me know and I will organize something and do the purchase. The one that I was interested in is $39 for the State of Michigan.

Here are the details about it below. Send me PM if your interested and I will give it a few days to see how many people we have. Thanks

This map installs on your Garmin GPS and clearly shows you snowmobile trails and thousands of gas / food / lodging / parts / repair waypoints, as well as highly detailed coverage of roads, lakes, rivers, public and private land, county boundaries, cities, railroads, natural landmarks, and cell towers (so you know where your signal will be strongest). The roads have been hand edited and compiled from multiple sources to provide the most complete collection of small rural and forest roads on the market - even more complete than first-party road and topo maps.

All of Michigan's major trails are included using the DNR's most current data (updated and corrected by us where available), plus many local and club trails. Trails are labeled by number and name.

The map is available as an instant download or it can be sent to you on CD or a pre-loaded memory card. Updates are available as a free download for a year from the purchase date, or can be purchased on CD or memory card for a small fee.

I just downloaded this free one. Whats the difference between this one and the paid one? anyone know?

I believe the free map only contains the trails. The paid map contains roads and other points of intrest like Cell phone towers, etc... It also appears that they have fixed the maps to be routable.

Redpinemapping.com currently has a sale - 2 states for $40. Doesn't seem too bad.

Ryan (redpinemapping.com) is a fellow snowmobiler and has taken the time and effort for the last few years to develop the most current mapsets available including revisions initated by users. He has been good to me and there is no way I would consider "sharing" his product. He put forth the effort and deserves to be paid for it. His latest Michigan mapset allows you to route your trip and provides turn by turn directions in auto mode.

I bought GPS maps from GPSSLEDMAPS(Ryan), last year, and just recieved free update to Michigan Trails, for my Garmin etrex, the maps are excellent, so much better than using the paper maps, always know where you are at, I would recommend them to anyone, I'll never go back to traditional maps.
