Anybody sled this area ? How is the trail system ? Flat land , or hill country ? Thanks

This area is awesome be sure to run up the gunflint it is very scenic, came over a knook up there one year doing about 60 or so and wolf on the trail we were both shocked felt like s min but was probably 2 seconds we we're side by side on the trail and he darted off into the bush ine of the coolest things I've seen then about 2 hours later coming back down to Grand Marais had a big bull moose jump out onto trail by a little Creek with a bridge I think I could've rode under that big bull his hooves we're as big as my helmet best day riding I've had for seeing wildlife, my favorite trail up there is the blueberry road trail over to Grand portgage you get up overlooking them Ridgeline it is breath taking, the only problem we had was having back to Grand Marais the trail back into town I think it's the nsst gets some serious moguls maybe just was bad when we were there but been that way both times I've stayed in gm, have a blast it won't be hard up there

Really don't think he was asking about the speed limit, but what the terrain was like which it is one of the most wild beautiful places you could ride

Its a very scenic area and the wildlife viewing I feel is the best in MN.
We have run out to Grand Portage and stayed at the Casino on a few backpack trips in the past. The trail markings out that way are iffy so make sure you leave the Devils track area with a full tank of gas.
One time we rolled into the Casino with 130 miles on our tanks at 2:00 am in the morning due to a snowstorm and a wrong turn!

For much of the gunflint area if you insist on going 50+ mph, then the least of your worries is going to be a speeding ticket. The big question would be how far from your mangled sled is your broken body going to end up.
The gunflint/north shore area trails are hilly (nearly mountainous in areas) with twisting curve after curve for miles at a time lined with mature 50 foot pine trees.

The area is without a doubt the best area for snowmobiling in minnesota, but if you have the need for straight line speed its not for you. The one straight trail I can think in the area, the expressway, is often covered in moose tracks, so you can take your chances with that as well.
