Grand marais, paradise

Trails were all good snow, good grooming for the most part, dependent on traffic, which was heavy. They got quite a bit of snow while we were there and did a good job with what they had for traffic.

PARADISE

We have a saying "there is no paradise, in Paradise" Well this year....not the best folks. They have had all (3) groomers down, I think they are all up and running now. Trail 8E in the north coming from Grand Marais had not been groomed all year yet! Grand Marais has there part done, but n ot paradises part. They call this section "Siberia" because its quite open and the site of a forest fire. ......don't go there until its groomed! We dropped down on trail 498S to trail 9S and then took trail 45E to Tachquamenon Falls. All of those trails were good. 498S is mostly road and hard on slides and carbides. This was the only good route into Paradise as the south route, coming from the SOO is also not done.
Paradise has gotten to be somewhat of a ghost town. Met groomer Chris at Camp 3 and talked to him about "Siberia". We'll see if these guys can get Paradise open for business again.....its not for they're lack of trying!

Thanks for the report on grooming and machinery, looks like another trip to the Kee, had planned on doing the Munising to Paradise round trip but EEEHHHHH; NOT!

Thank you winter warlock you are right about Paradise. They are trying, but they are having groomer troubles and a lack of people. They admit it on their website. Thank-you for the updates and the grading it really helps.
