Great lakes levels to hit highest in Decades?

It would make sense for all of the "Great Lakes" & their connecting waterways. Levels are have fluctuated due to change in weather patterns, some years more rains than others, some years more system snows than others. As such, mother nature continues in her cycles, what she giveth, she taketh away & visa versa.-Mezz

Can the UP people verify this to be true? Or is this only Superior or Michigan?

Hello,
I posted a month ago that the Bay of Green Bay, WI was up compared to the past 8-10 years; what did I base it on? I went to Door County, WI and actually saw dozens of 25-40 foot boats moored/docked where in the past the docks were empty due to low water.
Plus, the marina we use in Suamico, WI (Green Bay) is generally as low as 5 feet in the quarter mile channel we use to get to the Bay and this year it is minimally 6.5
Saying that I am happy is an understatement.

The great lakes are probably rising because of global warming. All that polar ice that has been melting will fill the oceans and the big lakes as well.

if you want to verify this and make sure this is happening....then compare the SEA LEVELS from 5 years ago to todays sea level...I wonder if the level is changing and the maps show it on elevations? mount huron and places similar should be shrinking in size then on the sea level thingy....are they? even ifs it 2 feet I think the satellites would pick that up?

where did ya go there jeb? I did some looking and I see since 1995 it has risen 84.8mm which is 3 inches and .338...just a tad under 3 and 3/8 inches higher in 20 years....and since 1870....7 and 7/8 inches higher....which indicates somethings odd...it has gotten warmer but basically has not risen much in sea level....so there might be another factor that everyone is over looking...which happens deep in the earth or ocean...as the water supposedly rises....it also gets evaporated from the magma below bringing it back down and making fresh water again

personally...I think we are under far greater attack from the huge plastic glob and pollution as a whole...again...I call it climate change which is different from global warming...very different....nasa takes it one step farther as with the title of this page of the data link I provided..click on link look in top left for what they call it now...even different yet again

just an outside observation

Not true. They were at historical lows 2 years ago. I work for a great lakes shipping company and the low water levels 2 years ago caused us big problems.

Presumably he was being sarcastic - because the alternative excuse for that post is not flattering.

I don't think there is enough water or ice in the closed system that is our planet to raise the level of the Great Lakes that much. If all the ice melted the coasts would be affected but not inland waterways that much. Just physically impossible. Just as it is physically impossible for it to rain for 40 days and 40 nights without some evaporation to recharge the system. There are limits to what can and can't happen. We live in a closed system. There is a finite amount of water.

not true either

Believe it or not, but 1 year straight was the longest rainfall period: 12 months (U.S.) Kukui, Maui, Hawaii Dec. 1981–Dec. 1982 739 inches

i am sure this is true. I should have stated that it can't rain ALL OVER THE EARTH continually. Isolated places with weird climates like the rain forests yes of course it can rain all the time. But the water has to get up in the atmosphere in order to come down again. So the rain that fell on Hawaii evaporated from someplace else. SO, it is impossible for it to rain for 40 days and 40 nights all over the earth.

not true again..no dig grub....just facts....IF the world builds up CO2 as in the global warming they talk about...it will encompass the entire planet....and it will rain over the ENTIRE EARTH for possibly longer than that...so the bibles story might be correct.....we call it CLOUD SEEDING today....it would rain until its all worn out and used up....could be decades even

The most common chemicals used for cloud seeding include silver iodide, potassium iodide and dry ice (solid carbon dioxide). Liquid propane, which expands into a gas, has also been used. This can produce ice crystals at higher temperatures than silver iodide. ... This process is known as "static" seeding.

could farm tiling be a factor? this is a factor in MN - rivers and lakes are very high-not saying just because of tiling but a factor

What I'm thinking is these phenomenons happened in the past and repeats it self, but somehow affected with climate change.

yes it is called GEOMAGNETIC REVERSALS and it happens like clock work...basically when lava hardens the iron ore and whatnot harden facing north...so they went out west where 4 billion years is visible in rock layers....they then measured this phenom and it turns out its every 750,000 years...sure theres smaller ones but the one were interested in is the big one...750,000 years...and due to carbon dating tolerances + or - 1000 years (not sure of exact tolerances these days....according to this we are on 749,000...some say 749,999...could happen tomorrow...or decades from now....the climate change we are seeing indicates very soon....so north will become warm and south will be under water...300 feet roughly....as are old structures and cities...under water by 300 feet...the earth adjusts...the water story of bible might be true...as other stories in it...and there are basically 5 older bibles that all say the exact same thing...and as an FYI....a hairy man/beast (with many different names) is in them all...including the one you know....I am not very religious so don't think that....but I have to look at the facts...and the facts are there are 5 older bibles that all say the same thing...hmmmm...again....to learn of what you have not been told truthfully...you need to read the TABLETS OF THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH....all very real...read how they mimic the bible...only I believe the current bible was edited off this version...but weird stuff like bigfoot (hairy man/missing link) was intentionally left out...why? I don't know why since its very important for sure...all myths have 10% truth in them...below is only tablet 11...it si what the flood was written about...only 10,000 years earlier...go to section 3.1 for bible mirror section to read for yourself...all of it is related somehow....if you can figure it out you will be rich....LOL...many have tried...good luck and enjoy

GILGAMESH FLOOD

big foot is in tablet 5....HUMBABA...and he tells noah to build the ark out of cedar which does not leak in sea water when it expands....very interesting for sure

PS...check out dimensions humbaba told him to build ship....round...makes more sense...a bowl wont sink...it will go up on waves and slide back down...this version makes far more sense than the cleaned up version we know today...my 2c
