Great Weekend in Chatham MI. Heading west towards Marquette on Friday, east and South on Saturday and Back east again on Sunday. Friday we went west from Chatham on 8 into Gwinn, then 33 heading south to 32 east again. 8 from Chatham to the 32 cutoff were great smootth trails. once on 32 we ran into about a 4-5 miles stretch of logging that was gravelly snirt and sucked. Once past that 32 to 5 to republic were also very good. All trails were in good shape a but could use some fresh snow to make things better. the snow has definitely been worked as hard as you can and is grainy and loose. give yourself some good carbibes and ski pressure. From republic we looped back up to 8 east and headed back, trails still smooth. we avoided Harvey by staying off of 417 and went down 8 and Back to Chatham, 208ish mile loop. Saturday we headed east on 8 from Chatham to the 7 South Cuttoff toward The Buckhorn. continued south on 7 towards Big Spring all the way to 2 heading back east. yes wwe avoided Big Spring as the snow in that area is historically low going into Big Spring and we have been riding this area for 30 plus years so been there, done that many times. we took 2 east towards Rapid river all the way to the 411 Northback towards 7 and the Buckhorn. we did a lot of exploring some property one of our guys bought and a couple of cabins that are owned by guys in our group so we put on some mile offtrail there, and then headed back to Chatham. 180 miles plus day. Sunday we headed back east on 8 towards 5 to Big Bay. rode up 5 and cant recall where we turned aroud on the twistie's just short of big bay and made our way down 310 to 14 to the crossroads for gas, and then back to Chatham. The Trails were all pretty good considering they all need fresh snow. Three days of riding close to 600 miles. Great weekend. "Think Snow"
