Grocery Getter on Trail 3

Wondering if anyone else ran into the beater running down trail 3 on Tuesday. I've seen cars, trucks, and some questionable vehicles on the trail over the years.

This one was notable for a couple reasons. . . It wasn't stuck. (First one I've seen that was still moving) It was on the trail for quite a distance.
They were headed east near the old Dan's Polaris intersection when we met. The tracks were on the trail all the way to South Range with a slight jog onto the road at Atlantic Mine? (Still trying to figure out how they got on the road and then headed back onto the trail.) Just wondering who else ran across this one and maybe know if the G.G. made it all the way to the Old Mill Road intersection? Going down that hill would have been kinda crazy.

It was probably more surprise than anything to realize the double headlights approaching were from a car vs. SxS or groomer. Didn't look too close at the driver as we passed. Afterward, also thought it may be interesting to turn back and see if they made it that intersection.

There were other sleds on the trail at the time. Even saw some pass the car way off in the distance as it approached.

We saw 3 cars stuck on trail last week in the UP. First was a couple teenagers and an honest mistake, just off a 4 way intersection. Kid called his buddy's dad who was out there with a truck and some shovels to try to get it out. We helped get that one out.

Second was a Subaru way the heck off the road. Sunk badly and they gave us a thumbs up so we kept going.'

Third was an all wheel drive older infinity. This was about halfway up to Big Bay. We followed their ruts in the trail for about 5 miles where they tried to turn around and were hopelessly stuck and sunk perpendicular to the trail. No idea how they would get that out - I'd guess the groomer would have to be involved. I didn't see how a tow truck would get to it.

Never saw that many cars on trails. Maybe it's the mild weather?

We rode from central lower Michigan to the UP on a Wednesday a few years ago and saw more cars on the trails than sleds? All were stuck with no way we were going to be of any help other than checking on them and all had groomers notified and on the way.
