Need input. Wife is coming off a 02 Sli-Doo Legend with 16k ( piston finally blew ) Thinks she wants a GSX SE 1200 with the long track. JUst wondering if the trottle is just as touchy as the Yamaha Apex and Vector? She feels those are jerky or like snap your neck everytime you hit the trottle. If so we might have to go 600 E-Tec GSX LE. Thoughts from anyone who drives one of these 2 sleds?

Up to her as I don't feel jerky flippers on any of those models. 4s likes to go all the way thru broad powerband. 2s much more peaky engine but maybe what she really means is 4s engine braking & uneven off & on gas may be jerking her around. 2s coast better although new 4s are reducing engine braking.

My wife has a 09 1200 GSX and yes, it was jumpy at first but she got used to it and its not a problem. actually it is better because you do not get a sore Thumb as easy. I have a GTX 600 Etek and I like it also. Both have been great. The XR is my favorite. We also have 3 XP's in the Yard so I have ridden them all.

I will probably buy a GSX 1200 SE next time. I like a Long Track and a high Windshield so thats why I bought a GTX in 09 and I was scared of the 4TEK then because it was new. Now we have 3 1200 4 TEK's in our Group and I think there will be more next year. We have had some ETEK's go down lately around 8000 miles and mine has over 6000 so I'm holding my breath.

Either 1 is a good choice and if Money is not a problem the extra 1000 for the 1200 is probably worth it.

Whitedust, again you post about sleds you know nothing about! Have you even sat on either one of these sleds let alone ridden them?? You post on every thread about sleds, and you bash every 2s thread on here.

To the OP; Whitdust is a 4s nazi, if its not a 4s its no good in his opinion. So just take his opinion and throw it out the door.

I have logged real world miles(not internet miles) on a 600 etec. It is a very healthy motor. But it is far from "peaky or neck snapping" It is IMO a very mellow motor at anything under WOT. At WOT it will get up and go, but it wont pull your arms out of the socket.

I have not ridden a 1200 Doo, so I cannot give you any "real world comparisons".

Whiteblizzard I rode GSXSE 1200, Doo O2 ZX platform form Legend 600, Apex, Vector & the MXZ 600 etek. Plain & simple 2s are more peaky in power delivery by design than any 4s not a bad thing just the way it is. Any of these sleds are a good choice for your wife but really up to her. You know how it is if she finds sled operation jerky then it is jerky so to me it is up to her to test ride & choose what is best for her. All good sleds but 1 may be better to her.:)
