I got a Garmin Montana last year and love it. You can set up profiles for anything you want ATV, Snowmobiling, Hiking, Auto, or about anything so with one touch you have the set up you want with the maps you want. It even has a camera.
Yes you can get all the Michigan Snowmobile and ATV maps. V.V. mapping. Good to well below freezing ran it on the sled last year and never a problem. you can also get depth finders and lake mapping. Its not cheep but you only will need one for anything you will be doing. Also water proof.

I'm not at the Montana level yet still using an Oregon quite frequently (almost daily) for geocaching and have no complaints. Previous to that I was using a Colorado (now obsolete) and was afraid to go to a touch screen but have not had any problems except batteries during the winter do not last long so I bring extras and some lithiums (very expensive) but have not had to use the lithiums yet since I bring extras. I did have the Colorado hooked up to the sled but the cord trashed the USB connector and turned it into a brick and then on the replacement it went bad as well, and is the reason I have stayed away from using a cord on the Oregon (besides it goes into a heated handle bar bag on the sled which give me more battery life).
