Handwarmer voltage

Does anybody know what the correct voltage should be running to handwarmers on a sled? My daughter has one warmer that doesn't work and I checked the voltage to it and is showed about 1 volt flowing to it. The other side works fine and it also shows 1 volt flowing to it. I checked my sons sled, both older Polaris Supersports, and his shows close to 3 volts flowing to each side. Which is correct and does it matter?

You didn't mention what model sled you have

The hand warmers are usually checked with the sled OFF and unplug the heaters from the harness.

On most sleds, using an ohm meter, 14 OHMS on one pair leads and 21 OHMS on the other pair gets you close enough to tell if you have a bad hot grip.

Also, remember that if you are checking the voltage, most sleds use AC voltage at the handwarmers, so if you were measuring DC voltage, it would explain the readings you were getting

Actually I did mentioned sled model, 2 older Polaris supersports. I did check resistance today on them, my sons sled both hand warmers are about 9.8 ohms while on my daughters sled 1 hand warmer is at 9.8 ohms while the other doesn't have any resistance so that side is bad. These also only have 1 setting. So I will need to replace the one on her sled
