Has anyone been to the Summerwind Mansion site in Land O' Lakes, WI?

All this Paulding Light talk got me to thinking again about the mansion. Looks like a great place to visit, but I believe it is private property? Has anyone been there? Lots of fun stuff on google.

on the same road as Bent's Camp and not to far away from there. I was looking at a house close to there but did not know about this. Thanx for the info, will have to check into it.

I think it burned down years ago,was on West Bay lake! Guy wrote a book about it and lots of visitors, kids trashed it ,especially Hallowe ! Ill have to check it out and see if its still there !

The foundation, stone steps, stone archway, and two stone chimneys are still there. As I understand, it was hit by lightning in 1988 and burned down (except for the stone). The ruins are still visible, but it's quite grown in. Some good, fairly recent pictures from 2008 here:

mrsrunningbear, I think the mansion ruins are on private property. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop people from going there. If you like to read, check out the Carver Effect. It's written by a guy that used to live in the house. It explains all the "goings on."
