Has anyone had there track repaired using Central Wisconsin Track repair? I have a gouge on the inside of the track from a broken suspension part but the rest of the track is perfect shape. I would hate to spend the money on a new track if I dont have too. Thanks for the help.

I thought about giving it a try last year when I damaged my track. I just ended up buying a new track to be safe. I didn't want to take the chance of having an imperfection and something happening at riding speed.

polar--that money spent on a new track could be the dif between life and death. When tracks come apart, you lose ANY brakes and the sled could flip at any second. My opinion, I wouldn't think twice about putting a new track.

Now if the gouge isn't all the way through (I guess at that point it would be a hole) then trying a track repair may be the way to go. But if it is a hole and especially starting to rip, replace it. If all you do is boondock, then it may be ok to leave as well because most of the time you aren't going really fast so you can always bail from the sled.

just my crazy azz 2 cents.

The damage is more of a scrap. Its not a hole for sure. It kind of just took the top layer of rubber off, on the inside of the track. But you can see the kevlar bars. Its about 2inchs wide and about 6inchs long. Yeah, Im still thinking about what to do with this situation.

I had one a few years back with a rip on the edge, and just kept on riding it. I would always check it, and it never got any bigger so I just never replaced it. Rode it for another 4000 miles after the rip and never had any trouble.

Call your Insurance Company, see if it's covered. Get a new track. I have rode sleds with tracks that had seven 1" holes in them from studs pulling thru. No problem. outer edge tears scare me. If you don't have idler wheels passing over it or the drivers cross over the area I would not worry about it. How many miles on the track? You could always paint the spot with that rubber stuff in a can that is used for grips on tools. The stuff you dip the tools in and get rubber grips, that stuff. Farm fleet, Tractor supply and Harbor freight sell it. Maybe Meijer store has it too.

I have used them twice to have two tracks repaired and have not had any problems. They are very good people and do a ton of work in the Eagle river area I think on rental sleds and used sleds. I had 2 studs pull through and a horse shoe rip in the track they repaired all of them I think it was about $100 dollars plus shipping. they had a good turn around time about 1 week. The lugs do look a little diffrent than stock but it would be very hard to notice. Otherwise just say the track is ported.
I would highly recommend there service I think the are out of Wisconsin Rapids area. They recommened shipping it in with Speedy delivery because they were the cheapest I think

They are near WI Rapids I have had two tracks repaired never had a problem and would do it again. A small hole in a track will not hurt it think of track porting just make sure that the area around your scrape didn't get damaged I would at least give them a call and talk to them they arfe very nice people and will give you a streight answer. I also think they offer a 1 year unlimited milage warrenty. I had 2 lugs and a hole repaired and it was around $150. I believe that you can also drop off the sled and they can do it on the machine
