The last time they won in 1961, the final game was on April 16th. Wow, has the league changed!! I suppose you add a couple dozen teams, and the season will get longer.

Niemi was shaky in the finals. Toews had the most points in the playoffs, he was a rock solid penalty killer, and he was the emotional leader. They may have won with Huet, but there is no way they win without Toews.

Toews carries the team = a fantastic leader and a phenomenal player. He was the single most valuable player on that team that enabled it to get this far. His entry into the Hall of Fame is already established by his outstanding record from Shattuck Academy Fairbault on to the Hawks. Phenomenal for his age. See Wickipedia for his record.
