Have reservations starting Thursday at Hayward. Not finding many reports, is it worth the trip or should we be finding somewhere else to go? Thanks

Go further north! I drove from clam lake south on 77 through Hayward Yesterday "Sunday" and everything I could see was JUNK! Mostly dirt!
If you were hard up you could work at keeping your slides lubed but I would go to Hurley and north or get on the flowage north of Hayward maybe!
It looked pretty good starting around Clam Lake and north all the way to the Yoop!
This is my opinion from the road! I did look as far as I could see up the trails etc not just road crossings!

Cancelled Hayward and found a place to stay at Minoqua, was there over new years. Sounds like it will be another big weekend. Hope we should not have stuck with original plan, but looks like the snow was a bust.

You made a good choice!

Hayward 2/15

Brought the sleds over to the Hayward area on the Feb.15th and dropped in Hayward headed east then north. Surprisingly the trails were in really good shape. We were trail riding with the ladies so no hard riding, but over all really good. We put on about 45 miles before we even passed another sled. We rode the loop up and around and ended up north of cable and came down the corrodor trail. That was a little beat up, but you could ride the ditch and it wasn't bad. I'm not saying they don't need snow, but it's good enough for what they have. We put on about 65 miles that day and I'm planning on going back on Sunday this weekend.

Heading up to the Hayward area this coming Saturday. Anyone been up there over Christmas? How are the trails?

I live here and I went for a short ride on the 17th and they weren't to bad. Its been to damn cold to ride for the past 2 days and looks like another week of this cold crap so I wont be going out for another week at least. I didn't see many sleds in town this past weekend.

rode that area this past weekend.trail 31 out of casino headed north was getting vary thin with multiple rocks.rode over to moose lake which was pretty nice.lots of rocks in the hayward power sports area.also rode up to cable and no grooming there as of saturday.they could use a good 6" to be in great shape.at least there marking lakes this week so will help getting around.lots of traffic will be hard on trails if no new snow.

With 1-3 inches of snow in the forecast, is it worth the trip up there? I was told it you head up toward iron river it gets better.
