Hayward Lakes Conditions Sawyer County

Hello Riders!

Conditions: Northern part of the county is good and the southern part of the county is fair.

Please be aware of an open spot near the shore on trail 18 when entering or leaving the the Flowage in front of R & R. When traveling through this area just stay to the shore line.

Trail 5 on the swamp off of Hwy 77 has an open spot that has been blocked off. Please go down a half a mile to trail 15 and reroute or if coming from trail 77 get off on 15, please DO NOT go around the swamp on private property. Riders going on private property has been a common complaint this year in several areas. Do not go in private property that does not have a marked trail. ever. Please respect this.

Not many groomers have been out, a few and in some short distanced areas to not disrupt what is there. All this being said our forecast shows snow Today and Fri before the weekend!! This will be very much celebrated! Even a simple 3" would make conditions in many areas of the county excellent!

As we have mentioned the sights in the Northwood’s have been breathtaking! Everything encased in frost makes the world up here look almost black and white! Riders seeing deer, eagles and ELK! A little fresh snow before the weekend will be just the soul food you all need to get your sleds and gear ready! We will update as we see that snow fall!

All of the lakes have been reported to be staked.

Always ride the staked trails, wondering away from them can provide open spots, stumps, rocks, heaves, fisherman shanties and tip ups, plowed ice roads for shanties that creates a berm, etc. Ride smart and safe!

Surround counties: Washburn and Bayfield Counties are open, Ashland, Price and Rusk are closed, Barron partially open.

Thanks again for tuning in and check back before the weekend!
