Heated Shield Wiring, 04 Switchback 700

My neighbor has a 04 Switchback 700 and he would like to wire in a heat shield. Does anyone know where he can get 12 volts from? I'm a ski-doo guy and not overly familiar with Polaris sleds. I should add that the sled does not have electric start. Thanks for any input.

I just took the handle bar pad off and found the wiring for the thumb warmer and spliced into it. (04 poo 600 classic is what I have) thumb warmer on my sled has three wires (high,low and ground)

Between the air box and gas tank there should be a two wire flat lead connector. Just buy the mating end and plug in. Thats what I did with my Switch.

I would wire it right to the regulator. They don't recommend splicing into any other electric accessory IE: hand warmers

Thanks for the input. I think that I will tell him to wire it at the regulator. The directions say not to tap into the heaters.. Thanks.
