Could use any good info on wiring a heated shield for my 08 polaris shift. Dealer said to wire to headlight power. Where is a good place to tap in? Any help. Thanks

Check your wiring harness for an accessory plug before you splice in any where. My 05 800 XC SP had a plug in the left hand footwell just behing the metal foot gaurd. It was right off the voltage regulator, flat, black and looked like a trailer light plug. My 2010 Dragon had an accessory plug down the left side of the engine compartment up by the hood hinge where several conectors were taped together. The 05 had one wire that plugged into the harness and one that grounded to the frame. The new dragon just plugged right into the 2 wire flat accessory plug. I have heard that some have an accessory plug taped up behind the air box, but have not found one there yet... Hope this helps.

I have an 08 dragon. Mine has a plug for accessories. I just plugged right in. If you have a plug, you'll need to buy the other end and splice it onto your shield wiring. And, best of all you don't need to get it (the plug) from your Polaris dealer, it's a standare 12v auto plug. I took a picture of the half thats on my sled with my phone and went to the local auto parts store and said "hey, got one of these?"

What size is your Shift? GF bought 550 fan last year and i hooked it up near the left foot well. No voltage to flat plug in on wiring harness.

Does it have a battery? Otherwise wire straight to regulator. I dont know why a dealer would tell you to splice into anything else :((
