Sounds like a possibility. While you're in there, you might want to make sure the connection is good (there's a plug in there somewhere, can't remember exactly where, maybe behind the airbox) and that the wire from the sensor to the plug has continuity. Just to rule it out as a possible problem. If there's a break in the wire or a dirty connection, it may have gotten jiggled while you were working with the sensor and briefly made contact, which could possibly make you think that it's the sensor. Please note that I'm theorizing here, never actually had this happen. But I know that electrical troubles are a PITA and you want to rule out as much as you can before making a decision on the cause.
