If it starts and runs okay, I'd then suspect a wiring harness or connection problem. If your voltage regulator is bad, from what I hear, you could be blowing light bulbs. If it doesn't run okay, then I'd say the battery is a good possibility as SDI's absolutely need a strong battery to run properly. An original battery in an 06 definitely has more good time behind it than ahead of it. Mine's an 05 and I just put a new battery in it for the second time. Might not have needed it right away, but it was showing enough signs of tiring that I replaced it now rather than being stranded out on the trail (as happened to my wife's sled last year -- it's no fun!).

Sounds like a possibility. While you're in there, you might want to make sure the connection is good (there's a plug in there somewhere, can't remember exactly where, maybe behind the airbox) and that the wire from the sensor to the plug has continuity. Just to rule it out as a possible problem. If there's a break in the wire or a dirty connection, it may have gotten jiggled while you were working with the sensor and briefly made contact, which could possibly make you think that it's the sensor. Please note that I'm theorizing here, never actually had this happen. But I know that electrical troubles are a PITA and you want to rule out as much as you can before making a decision on the cause.
