Turn over no spark

When you pull the recoil the headlites will lite a little I was told that was good.

Tried good coil no help
Tried good CDI box no help
Tried to look and check all connections.
Checked kill switch and that seems ok.

Any other ideas and whats the silver Box with what looks like a hard clear jell in it with one wire comming out of it and it is located abound where your left knee would be behind the cowl?

Thanks

Unplug the big square white plug with yellow wires in it down by the recoil and only that plug.

If you then have spark it's probably just the slack throttle kill switch and be a simple throttle cable adjustment.

The stator assy is split, one part for ingnition and one part for lights, grips, etc. So if the lights light up when pulled over it only verifies that the lighting part of it is working and not the ignition part.

I believe you are descrbing the regulator.

Or...resister for the hand warmers.

Need to follow the wires.

After unplugging the big white connector I still have no spark.
How do I test the stator?

Thanks Harry

No its not the kill switch/igition switch because like Mike said that disconnectiong the large white connector takes that all out of the system.

Test for stator assy, unplug the wires coming from the engine at the recoil area, test on the engine side of the harness. Readings are +/- 10%

Brown to Engine (Ground) = Zero
Yellow/Red to Brown = Zero
Yellow/Red to Yellow = .25 Ohms
White/Yellow to Black = 213 Ohms
Blue/Red to Brown = 27 Ohms
Red/White to Green/Red = 442 Ohms
Red/White to Engine = Open

There should be one stand alone black wire near the white plug. Unplug the black wire only and check for spark.

But the problem is it doesn't. The kill circuit is a black wire. The big white plug is your lighting and power circuit not your ignition circuit. You need to find the master black wire and disconnect it from the CDI box.

Mike and Motor_slut thanks for your help I think I have it nailed down to the stator Here are the reading that I have got using my ohm meter set on 2000 scale and I did try the black wire unhookd as suggested with no spark.

Brown to engine= 001
yellow/red to brown=002
yellow/red to yellow=002
white/yellow to black=203
blue/red to brown=27
red/white to green/white= nothing
red/white to engine =open

So the red/white to green /white is supposed to be 442 and mine is 0 so that is a problem and yellow/red to yellow is supposed to be .25 and mine is 002 which might be the same on a different scale.

Mike it looks like I need a new stator # 3085934. Should I go new or try a used one or have it rebuilt and if rebuilt where? What makes it go out in the first place? I dont want to buy a new one and destroy it. Also do you have one and how much?

Thanks again guys for all your help.

Talked to Mikedrh on the phone and it sounds like a bad stator. Mike knows his stuff and explains it in english so even a person like myself comes away knowing a little more than I did before. So off hunting I go to find one ASAP.

Thanks Mike for all of your help if I ever meet you out I owe you at least a couple.

Thanks Again
