Help on Trip out West

My son and I think we may finally be able to head out West this winter to try riding in the mountains. We would be renting sleds. We are both very experienced riders but Michigan experienced riders (trail and off trail) so the mountains will be new to us. Having zero experience in the mountains we want to get a guide. With that said I would want a guide that would let us push our ourselves and would not be afraid to let us get stuck or fall off the sled.

I have looked on-line but really know nothing about who is who in the guide business. Can anyone provide any advice on how to pick a guide service?

Togwotee is a good place to start. They are running an early season special right now $129/night gets you 2 meals, room, and guide (you will be riding with other people too though). Minimum stay of 4 nights I think and book before Nov 30. They rent sleds there (I think $250 day with gas and oil but not sure), and will pick you up from the airport included.

I also like 3C guiding out of the Snowies. www.3csnowmobileguide.com Cameron will help you out and show you a good time. You would be riding with just him most likely. Not sure of where to rent sleds at the Snowies though - there are more logisitics involved, but it's not as tough on your pocketbook...

Both are great options in my opinion.
