Help with White Pine area

Wonder if any can help. I am looking to possibly purchase a home in the White Pine Mi area. I know it's a old mining town and have snowmobilied thru there many of times. If I remember, there isnt much there except Kontonka correct? How is the town's people? I thought I remember reading somewhere that alot of "seasonal" homes were getting broke into somewhere on here last year. Any info on the town and area would be great.

i agree with paulz, great little town & the people are freindly. the konteka is about all there is in town but they have a rest., bowling alley, conv. store,bar, hotel, gas pretty much anything you need and the owners are super people. there's also a rest. called Antonios in the mall and there was a hardware store but i'm not sure if it's still open or not. i haven't heard of any problems with theft exept for a few years ago, hope it stays that way. the sledding & off-roading is great in the area also, i just got back yesterday from a few days ridin the bike & the wifes rzr.
