Honest backcountry snow review.

Me and the kids (and some friends) just spent a few days riding out in the Twin Lakes area and it's pretty darn shallow. The true backcountry is bad and we ended up mostly on the pole lines like many riders are doing. Lots of rocks and stumps but we survived without any major damage to any of the 7 sleds.

However there is plenty of snow for the trails and from all reports, and the amount of riders we saw blasting along, conditions are excellent!

Enjoy!

Yep, the backcountry is not good at all, maybe if it was early December? Lol. Ride trails yesterday, TL to Greenland on 13, Greenland to Ontonogon, to Rockland, to Mass, to Roseau bar, back to Greenland, back to TL on 13. Never in my 30 years of riding up in that area has it been this bad, this late in the season. Whoops, snirt, rocks, icy corners, just garbage trail conditions. Rode with one of my best friends, who hasn't ridden up there in 20 years, our first little break we took and he says, I see the idiots are still on the trails huh? Lol. Yep, that hasn't changed in 20 years!

Well the trails sure are packed! Right now I'm at home near #17 and it's a constant stream of riders going by.

We rode that area last Monday and Tuesday, very little traffic and trails were groomed smooth and no snirt. Weekday riding is the best I guess. We then headed to the East side by Munising and Grand Marais, traffic really picked up on that side. Once we got west of Munising traffic dropped off again. 950 miles for the week.

Took to the backcountry yesterday and agree. For this late in the season it is not good. It is however good for the shops that get to sell A-Arms, Suspension rails and so on. If you hit the woods be ready to buy parts!

Agreed.

The snow now needs a few days to settle, this crap is deep!!!

Hopefully it we get some sun and it gets a little warmer so all this makes a good base.
