Order it online and fix it yourself. Just make sure your wet end will fit and check the bearing in that as well. If you're going to replace the pump, you may as well do both.

I have dealt with BW Spa Parts before. 866-966-9799. They were very helpfull.

Good luck.

No hot tub expert here but mine just lost 2 pumps from a recent flood. When I opened the box with the circuit board, the pumps just plugged in. The pumps usually attach to the pipes with a compression fitting that just unscrews. This makes a pump change very easy as long as you match up with the correct replacement. Only tough part is on the wallet!

How old is the hot tub?

When you remove the side cover and look at the pumps is it dry everywhere and rust free?

I have a 15 year old cal spa with the original pumps (knock on wood) but have had to replace the pressure switches (2) and the circuit board once. I have also had to replace the 3 inch o-rings on the water lines by the gates as they were weeping a bit of water. You should not see any signs of water leakage when inspecting the pumps, gates, hoses and switches as any water leaks can lead to electrical problems.

I did have an OH code before that I fixed by replacing the switch by the gate at the circulation pump. It would shut down the pump because it did not think there was proper circulation throught the heater. If you are experiencing noise You might open up the impeller housing and inspect for debris or broken parts. Poor water circulation can give you that code so look for a gate that has closed a bit or faulty switch/sensor.

If you are hearing a bad bearing noise than you probably do need the pump especially if it gets so hot you cant touch it. (It will be very warm from normal use though)

Keep us posted as to what you find!

bought it in the end of 1999.......replaced the 3i O rings few years back....very dry inside!!!

it still runs great and it has not gone into the code mode since yesterday but it does have a noise when you put it in high....the pump is hot to touch way more then the other one......
I have skipd a part that happen before the pump made noise....here is the story....

so truth be told i fuwked up!!!just filled it last week for summer"its at cabin and we close for winter" so i fill it and we need new Bromine thing"floaty" so I get new one in town last week and bring up this week, set it in tub and went inside looked in the am to check tub and chemo in it WELL seems the "floaty" made its way into the top of filter and plugged it solid as the water was too low and it floated into filter area then sucked into the basket then tub must went dry and shut down........got up in am and it was in "OH" mode.....hit reset and pulled "floaty" out....it did go into OH mode 3 more times within an hr but now its run threw the night with no issue.......as soon as you turn pump on the second speed it makes noise this is the pump that runs when its cycling or "filtering" it is hot just sitting there.....it is a cal spa with all the shut offs it does look very easy to fix...

will keep you posted thanks for the response everyone...

Having the inlet to pumped clogged or blocked will cause the over heating code, this code refers to the heating element only not pump motor condition, having a dirty filter will cause the pump to over work and cause the same problems too. Having a tub with dual pumps, they both should operate at the same temp. and noise level etc... If you have time you could try switching thing around or inspect the filters (replace) the piping and the wet end of pump for obstruction or damage, running the pump for a prolonged time with restricted flow will cause cavatation which can damage the pump impeller... All that said there are many fine online stores with decent prices, so you could replace the pump for less than the cost of a service call and the worst case is you have is a spare pump.
