Actually, that was not in the legal written ‘order’ she put out. It was just something she said in a press conference, so basically a lie.
You can ride to the Holiday Express by taking the Nichols basically as far as you can during atv season to the Canal Road but just before the road there is a spur trail on the right, it may or may not have a sign on it but it will take you up the hill to the bottom end of the business strip. You should be able to see the route on Google Earth.

Here is something to consider. I believe they are going to start doing repairs to Old Mill Hill road this summer. It was damaged in the Father's Day flood of 2018. I wonder if this will effect the Bill Nichols trail with a closure. Just guessing here.

It is an ORV friendly town in some areas and you can get to the trail from a few places in Houghton but many of the streets are not open to ORV's and I can't name the ones that are open, check their city ordinances they're online. Just remember right now the trails are open, but the DNR trails cannot be worked on by the trail's sponsor club so their could be hazards, also short term vacation rentals are closed under the governors orders t this time. Fingers crossed we'll be able to open mid/end of May
