Houghton/Calumet December 9-11

Every year we try to make it up to Houghton the second week in December. This has worked about 60% of the time. Can anyone give me an idea if it is worth coming up this weekend? Decision time is Thursday night. I know John is predicting more snow. I understand conditions will not be ideal, but just looking for rideable.

I would wait as long as you can to decide. Amount of snow will not likely be as much of a problem as what is underneath it. Houghton/Hancock have bare ground right now, Calumet 6", me about 2-3. It's been wet, so there will be some messy spots no matter how much we get. Traffic will actually help, so I guess you could always take one for the team!

Wake this one up on Thursday to remind me and I will try and give more info.

Like John said, it's what's underneath the snow. Trail 13 from Twin Lakes to Greenland is a muddy mess right now. The Nichols trail will be fine, but, that could get boring after awhile. But, if ya gotta scratch the itch lol
