Houghton/Hancock are getting crushed right now

A small convergence band has set up and is hammering areas from around South Range/Houghton north to just south of the airport (halfway between Hancock/Calumet). Would not be surprised to see 10" (or more in spots) fall by sunset there.

Been snowing pretty hard here all morning too. Hard to tell how much has fallen with wind gusting to 50 mph.

It sounds like north of M38 is the place to be the next 9 days! Wish I could get up there. What a difference a year makes, eh?

Hard to tell with the blowing, but I think safe to say we have gotten ~5 inches in the past 3 hours. Really gives a person a warm and fuzzy feeling :)

Yup. I'm recovering from a broken leg, so won't be able to play in the snow for a little while, but still have that warm fuzzy feeling ;).

Main band is heading/spreading north. Cannot see across the street in Calumet. Snowing harder here too.

Bayfield Bomber?

we got rain early evening yesterday and light snow today, a dusting, nothing "epic" here. Actually nothing but disappointment here. Still have at least 10 of packed snow on the ground and have been plowing snow with the new blade on my Rhino.

Yesterday we ended up with 6" of wet heavy snow, then rain & sleet on top of that for a few hours. Temps rose from 30 to 35 at midnight & precip ceased until this morning. Temps dropped & the LES kicked in with strong Westerly winds. So far, about 5" of fresh on top of the crusty mess & still coming with no let up in sight. It will be interesting to say the least.-Mezz

Sorry to hear about the broken leg, Mark. Hope it gets healed quickly so you can get out and play in all this!

Slowing down a bit here in Houghton, but still, up to 8 inches in the last 6 hours.

Twin Lakes-think it dropped to the south from Houghton. Snowing & blowing hard here also. Hwy 38 and North, I guess.
Both Twin Lakes groomers are out grooming as of an hour ago.

I looked at the webcam pointed at the bridge 5-10 mins ago. I could not see the bridge, not even and outline. Just the trees right by the cam, and white. Unreal!

I have to say that this season is starting to look pretty good. 8" in my back yard, Arrowhead of MN with places that have 3 feet on the ground and the UP is going strong. Just think of all the options one has.

Well, you technically are south of M38 ;)
