How about giving a WI guy some credit!

A lot of us here in "God's Country" get many thanks for helping people. I just wanted to give a HUGE thank you to Bob in Howard(Green Bay). He own's Bob's Body Shop and specializes in restoring old cars...I couldn't have asked for a better guy to come to my rescue seeing as how I was raised on muscle cars. A couple weeks ago I was heading to Chicago for Cuzzinolaf's wedding on a Thursday night and a few miles west of Green Bay my dodge just flat out quit cruising down interstate 29 with plenty of traffic. I checked all my wiring and fuses and was dead in the water. As I was calling back home trying to arrange someone to grab my dad's wrecker and come get me Bob pulls up and offers to lend a hand making it very clear that he didn't want any money for helping me out. He ran home and switched out his car for a truck and trailer and back to haul my truck off of the busy interstate then once we dropped it at the near by truck stop he invited me over to his home and wait for my ride. We looked at one of his project cars and enjoyed a couple of cold drinks his kind wife poured us. having someone go out of there way to help me out turned a bad experience into a much better experience! It's good to know there are people like Bob out there and I'm VERY grateful for his help that day!

If your looking for a nice muscle car or need work done on one I'd look him up, I seen his work and it's NICE!

Wow. That is some true hospitality.

I love these stories. We have helped quite a few along the trails in the winter. It is often a simple fix and they are back on their way.

We ran into a group of 3 last season that had put a sled through the ice. One rider was very wet, it was not a good thing. Temps were around zero. We helped with our tow rope to get the sled out. Lucky rider, had put it in partially submerged, but it was a 6' straight up deadlift to get the sled onto land. The airbox had some mud in it, so they decided to let it sit vs taking a chance. We offered bar mitts to help the guy stay warm on the ride back to camp. They declined the offer, someone had a set in their bags. I never did hear how they fared, but they would have been in bad shape without some help.

Keep up the good work gang. :)

I tell yea it sure made me feel good and totally changed my attitude that evening! Bob is a great guy. I talked with him again on the phone today and the only thing he said is "just help out the next guy". PAY IT FORWARD! A great and rare outlook on life today.

It's great he was able to help you out! Living in Green Bay we do have some good people around here. Question though, what were you doing on 29? Don't you take 141 then the shortcut out of Florence and meet back with 141 in Pembine? If you don't do this is it shorter to go the way you do? I have tried taking M26 south then 45 in WI all the way to 29 and it was like 50 miles longer home (GB).

Glad he was there to help!

had to drop the famous shop dog Angus off at my parents in Greenland and it's shorter to take 45-29 from there.

Cheeseheads rock! There are friendly people all over this country. :)

Last Friday morning on my way up to John's I was almost to I39, after I came over the last hill on HWY82, I saw a car crossways in the road, wth I thought. As I got closer a young lady gets out of the car, and tries pushing the car, so I pull over, get out, and help her push it off the road. She had run out of gas. So I offer her a ride to the gas station, she buys a gas can, fills it, I drive her back to her car, I put the gas in, she starts it up, she says thanks, I say no problem, and away she goes.

Pay it forward Chad, I'll take a new M8 at cost please. :D

Hey Chad, it's called karma! How many times have you done that same thing for a stranded snowmobiler or visitor to the Kee? Like last March when you offered to let us stay at your place and get us out to somewhere for dinner so in the morning we could change slides on my Summit to get home.

My Dad always said, and I know everyones heard it....what goes around, comes around, whether it is the bad way or the good way.

Later, Bender
