Where are the first places to usually break snowfall? Wyoming? Minnesota? UP?

I just bought a new 2014 Switchback Assault 800 LE 144" (2" lugs) and I am CRAVING the snow...

I would think the WUPMI if the lake gets cranked up in late Nov which it always does. Should have break in miles Greenland to Houghton trails open Dec.1st.

Pikes Peak got some snow last week. Rumor has it there is some sort of famous road that leads to the top. Load it up!;)

Seriously though, there is "usually" some sort of ridable snow somewhere out west, by Halloween. Just depends on the weather patterns which area gets hit with early snows.

It's funny you mention Pike's Peak... did you see they recently put asphalt down on the road? Totally ruined it now...

Been up it twice. (not in a race).

But you have to admit, that "white knuckle" drive was worth it... :)

Since it's been tarred, I think MORE people drive it and more people drive it FASTER now. I literally followed a Dodge NEON down the pass who rode her brakes the entire way down the pass. When we finally got to the bottom, you could see the road-spray (it was raining) steaming off of the center hub.

When pikes peak was dirt and no guardrails back in the mid eighties I ran my Z28 up it with the intent of going fast.........until I seen what it was. I passed a dozen women walking down the peak crying their eyes out. I suspect they were terrified and decided to walk back down. At the top it was fog and snowing and it was 80 degrees at the bottom.
