How to tick off a groomer operator

Spent 4 hours in the groomer tonight to do an additional groom on the trail before the UP 200. By the end of the 4 hours I was so crabby from the stuff I saw idiots do. Here's a list of ways to get us going:
1 - Don't get out of our way. Just pull right up to the front of the machine and stop.

2 - Tear up the trail and leave piles on the freshly groomed trail.

3 - Leave a blown belt on a sign post.

4 - Don't go by the groomer when / where an operator clearly tells you too.

5 - Pass the groomer in an area that is posted no snowmobiles, run a few planted trees over.

Sorry, needed to rant.

A couple more....

6.- Drive over a sign and then leave it sticking out of the ground at a 20 degree angle towards oncoming traffic. (If you hit it, go back and fix it!)

7.- Roost as much snow as possible back onto the road as you cross.

I would have to laugh at #8 just because it is so out of the ordinary!

#9 - Think you are going to be cool and try to fly by the groomer that is as wide as the trail. (you end up at bottom of ditch with this one)

I hate to admit that made me laugh. Very strange.

It should not need to be your job though.

I laugh about most things that happen out there....especially that one.......sometimes it may take 24hrs. to a week.... but I try to remember/think that most of this stuff is done by someone out there having a great time snowmobiling and didn't mean to piss anyone off with their actions.....this tends to make my recovery time for stupid in the 24hr range......lol

I think I took that picture on Jan 1st then the coyote was put off the trail. Then the next day someone put a sign on it and said this is what happens when you drink all night at some bar. So someone did put some work into it. I know we all laughed.

All noted and agreed with. My favorite. Stop me and tell me what a great job I'm doing right in the middle of the trail, perferably on a hill or corner.

I MIGHT know the people who put the coyote on the sign. OK- it was our group. All I will say is- it was all in good fun and in no way was meant to be disrespectful of the groomer. We truly appreciate all you guys do. We honestly assumed another animal (birds, wolf, whatever)- would take care of it. You were right to guess- just a bunch of snowmobilers having a good time and thought it was funny. When we found it next to the sign, it had already been gutted. We assumed it had been there awhile (I'm guessing we were probably the 2nd group to hang him up). No nails, he was hollow- just kind of draped him up there. And you know boys, when they see dead stuff, they turn into little kids. They had to take their picture w/ the dead coyote they saw on the trail. I'm a girl so I'm not going to say I agree or get it- but they all thought it was pretty funny, so I'm assuming it's something in your male DNA (since some other JohnDee'ers admitted it made them laugh just hearing about it). But I'll be a big person and admit- it was our group. We weren't drunk. We weren't trying to be jerks. So I will officially apologize- Sorry Running Bear. Not sure who hung him up the first or third time- but I'll take the blame for the 2nd one and promise to never hang dead animals up on a trail sign again =)
That being said- stayed at your place this past weekend. It was great. Your wife was so nice- told us to call w/ any issues (luckily we didn't have any).

I thought it was funny when I saw it. Then it reappeared then next day was great. Its not something you see everyday.

hey nic.....pretty funny....good laugh for everyone...like I said it only takes 24hr sometimes......tell the guys and I might as well say this too, and anyone else that had their hands on it..... just not on the signs cause the groomer is the one that gets in trouble is someone misses a sign and gets hurt.........everyone put alot of work into the dead old thing....and it still does make me laugh everytime I think about it and this thread
