I was just on the webcam from one of this sites advertiser's and WOW. No wonder that trail gets SO beat up. To see what I mean go the AROUND THE CORNER PUB webcam in Mercer, WI. I watched for about three minutes and every time it refreshes you can see two, three, four new sleds in the frame. AND they still need snow.

Good in the woods around eagle river, I was on 70 and 7, but sayner and star lake systems are a disaster. All need snow and cold. 34.6 right now but good news is sun has not been out all day. Just got back from Sayner Pub vintage show.

Between Thur and Friday, did about 500 miles on the sled in the UP, including about 3 hours of boon-docking. Coming out of one of the loops near Fredia on Thursday night around 6 pm, I bet we needed to wait 10 minutes before we could safely enter the Bill Nicoles trail and head north due to traffic. Now mind you, the sleds are moving at a great rate of speed there, but I have never seen so much traffic. There is no way the trails can stay in good condition with the amount of sleds, and lack of new snow in any part of WI or MI as far as I am concerned. This reminds me of 4 or 5 years ago. Grab the snow, and there is no base left to it, just like surgar. Not many areas in the upper Midwest with snow, and then no new snow, and a ton of riders. Simply equals rough trails.

With no snow anywhere but eastern Wi and the UP everyone is going there. Then you combine that kind of traffic with the temps at or above freezing as they were it makes for terrible trail conditions

That's what I keep cussing Mother Nature about,
but folks think I am just whining.

Going to have to sled in "shifts" and wait for an opening to jump in!
FUN!

I have to sit on my sled just to remember what it feels like. LOL.
(not really funny)
:(
Looks like Central WI is getting snow at this moment?
Still none NE of G.B. on US 41

Just over an inch here in the Wausau area. Unfortunately, not nearly enough to make a difference. First 3 sleds down the trail will
have something to cool the hyfax. After that, back to where we were yesterday, and I can tell you that's not where we want to be.
SMH!

Can't call it whining "Just the facts "
Sad part is the last couple of nights they predicted snow here and it fizzled out and just got a coating, makes a guy want to cry. No work, no recreation, just get to sit at home and wish for snow. And make payments on stuff you cant ride, or have to drive 5 or more hours to use. SAD DAY HERE.

Just back from a long weekend in Price County. A ton of traffic on Saturday and the trails took a beating, colder on Sunday and everything froze up again. The Groomers are doing a great job but there's only so much they can do. They've got a good base if it ever snows more than an inch at a time. Gas is around 2 bucks for Regular in town.

Gas is where its at...its a 9hr drive for us to Ironwood, pulled the sleds up there for $100 in gas(one way), last year it was close to $250, makes it a lot easier on the wallet... we have another trip booked first weekend in March, long way off Im sure they will have snow by then!!
