I thought this was a good one to share. 39 y/o Jacob Skorloken was fishing out of his canoe as they paddled Crooked Lake. He was fishing with a spin cast rod & reel with 6 lb line & a 3/8 ounce blue & black jig when this bad boy latched onto the lure & ran. After a 20 minute battle, was finally able to paddle to shore to land this behemoth which measured 47.5" with an 18" girth. This would have been a Minnesota State Record if they had photographed the measurements, it could not be considered as a state record. The current record is a 46.25" pike caught in Basswood Lake. This is a real beauty. The fish was released to be caught again, hopefully. A replica mount is being made.
