Hydro locking

Talking to my bother-in-law. He has a ski-doo 700 he said he has oil dripping out of the pipe. He had the motor rebuilt once and it had a bent rod they said it it had hydro locked. Could there be a problem with the oil pump?

Probaby a check valve for the oil injection system. It sounds as though it is stuck open and allowing oil to free flow into the cylinder and could potentially cause a hydro-lock condition.

Take the pipe off, is there oil in the cyl? Turn it over by hand a few times and watch for oil. Hydraulic lock huh. usually thats a watercraft problem. I dont think you could pull a sled over hard enough to bend a rod if there was that much oil in the top end. (it would have to be between the head and the top of the piston, restricting its movement) I have usually seen this type of thing caused by the engine inhaling something through the carb. Called FOD (foreign object damage)
