Our Men and Women in uniform are the pride of this nation they give and ask for nothing in return but respect and honor for our colors and the freedom they stand guard to protect.

To bad politicians are going out of their way to tear this country apart.

Please everyone take a minute to honor all the men and women who serve or have served our Beautiful Country. Because of them we are the land of the free and home of the brave!
Bravo and May God bless each and every one of you.

Greg and Rockie are dear friends of ours and are the nicest people you will meet. The Troop ride is the weekend of sept 11, ends at the Medina ballroom for the concert. My wife Sandy rode last year and it was a tear jerker and the people that serve give up so much for others. We have only missed the first event at Medina but have gone to all the other events and last year my wife said that going on the ride is something that everyone should do at least once so that they can really see what the familes go through when they have lost a love one. Those that ride every year have the biggest hearts and some how find it in them to comfort those in need. Thanks to All and God Bless. Tim + Sandy

I have had the privilage to attend this event (Not Riding) a couple of times. This is a VERY emotional event and many tears are shed including my own. This is a great cause for our fallen heros, I know Rockie personally and we could not ask for a better spokesman for this cause. He will also be performing at the annual TTT meeting at the So. Saint Paul VFW Saturday December 5th. This is another fav of mine that Rockie has covered in a great Amwerican way.thanks Pat for starting this thread. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS.

In addition to communicating with the local Air Traffic Control facility, all aircraft in the Persian Gulf AOR are required to give the Iranian Air Defense Radar (military) a ten minute 'heads up' if they will be transiting Iranian airspace.

This is a common procedure for commercial aircraft and involves giving them your call sign, transponder code, type aircraft, and points of origin and destination.

I just flew with a guy who overheard this conversation on the VHF Guard (emergency) frequency 121.5 MHz while flying from Europe to Dubai . It's too good not to pass along.

The conversation went something like this...

"Iranian Air Defense Radar: 'Unknown aircraft you are in Iranian airspace. Identify yourself.'

Aircraft: 'This is a United States aircraft. I am in Iraqi airspace.'

Air Defense Radar: 'You are in Iranian airspace. If you do not depart our airspace we will launch interceptor aircraft!'

Aircraft: 'This is a United States Marine Corps FA-18 fighter. Send 'em up, I'll wait!'

Air Defense Radar: (no response ... total silence)
