no it's not the first time but these hurt worse than some of the others.only went tothe hospital for the first one cause i thought i was dieing.after i got the bill i decided to self medicate and deal with it next time.lukily i only pass acouple every couple years.runs in the family, my moms a stone builder.and yes after they pass it's instant relief

Oh man, I had one about 5 years ago and pretty much thought I was dying. Drove myself to the hospital and had to stop and puke a couple times on the way there. I walked into urgent care and the nurse just looked at me and said you have a kidney stone. Ah, morphine was good!

My husband used to get 1 to 2 a year. Went to a bunch of different specialists. They thought they were the calcium kind and they thought it might have been his thyroid. Finally the last specialist which is now the only one he sees, pinpointed that they are oxyalate (sp?) heavy. So.. that means no chocolate, peanut butter or dark pop and in 3 years and cutting all that out which sucks because he loves all that he hasn't had one yet. He joked that he was going to make me ring or pendant out of all of them.
